The error System.OutOfMemoryException shown in the summary of a failed job step means that Job Service has run out of memory.

If you're self hosted, please restart the Abacus Job Service windows service for this Abacus instance.

If you're Access hosted, or restarting the service does not resolve the issue, please raise a new case online and reference the title of this article, with the following information:

  • Include details of the database instance.

  • Which job was running at the time of failure.

Internal Solution

For hosted customers, Job Service will either be on the Application Server or the customer's RDS server if they have A4W. Refer to secret server which will tell you which server.

  1. Remote Desktop to the relevant server

  2. Go to Windows Task Manager, Services tab

  3. There will be a separate Job Service for each instance of Abacus and they should be named appropriately in the list.

  4. To restart right click the service and select Restart
