Abacus: FTP job failed (Northern Ireland Abacus sites only)

Why did the 'Upload Files to FTP Server' job fail with a message saying it couldn't find the ot15.dat file? I'm getting a "WARNING: No files found in directory" in the 'Upload Files to FTP Server' job progress.

Note: Applicable to Northern Ireland Abacus sites only who use Abacus to transfer their OT15 payment file automatically.

This issue can occur if you save the ot15.dat file after the Trigger.2 file, causing the job to run early and fail to transfer the file.

Follow these steps to resolve the issue:

  1. Verify if the OT15.dat file has already been transferred. You can do this by navigating to the directory listed after the "WARNING: No files found in directory" in the job progress. This folder is your creditor extract outtray.

  2. To manually trigger the transfer, save a file named "Trigger.2" in the same directory as the OT15 file. Make sure the file extension is .2, not .2.txt.

  3. In Abacus Admin, navigate to Administration, then Job Service, then View Jobs. Check if an "Upload Files to FTP Server" job is scheduled.

  4. You might need to wait for other jobs to process before the FTP transfer occurs.

Remember, the order in which files are saved can affect the success of the job. Always ensure the Trigger.2 file is saved before the ot15.dat file.
