In this article, we explore an issue with the 'Invoice Details' report. The 'Apportioned Charge' amount is incorrect for invoice adjustment lines, while other entries appear unaffected.

The Invoice Details report found under:

  • Reporting → User Defined Reports → User Defined Reporting in A4W.

  • or Reporting → Reports → User Defined Reports → Legacy User Defined Reports in Admin, may show an incorrect Apportioned Charge for invoice adjustment lines.

This can happen when a change to a client triggers a retrospective adjustment to their non-residential invoice charge. Abacus creates an invoice adjustment to credit the original charge and issues a new invoice with the updated amount, but the Apportioned Charge may be wrong on the credit adjustment line.

Steps to handle the issue:

  1. Open the Invoice Details report for the relevant invoice.

  2. Check the Apportioned Charge on any adjustment lines.

  3. Ignore the Apportioned Charge for these lines.

  4. Use the Line Value amount instead when reviewing or reporting.

This issue is scheduled to be fixed in a future release of Abacus.
