While there is a default figure for each financial year, the Weekly Allowance amount can be changed by the worker on each Assessment.
During the Automatic Reassessment process, Abacus will check the Weekly Allowance for each Assessment.
If the amount matches those in the Assessment Parameters for the previous period, it will be updated with the new default figure from the new period Assessment Parameters.
If the amount does not match the default for the previous period, then it will not be updated during the Automatic Reassessment process.
The reason for this is that Abacus deems that the figure has been overridden by the Assessor, and therefore it does know that the value should be updated to the new amount, left as it is, or changed for a new overridden amount.
β
If you apply a backdated change to a previous period's Weekly Allowance, you may inadvertently cause Abacus to see all the old figures as overridden and they will not then be uplifted.
β
To fix a batch uplift where this has happened you have two options. You can manually change each individual assessment affected, or ask for a custom data fix to be written. To discuss a data fix, please raise a new case online and reference the title of this article.
