Delete a duplicate client account

To delete a client's account in A4W, use the Delete button on the Basic Details tab on the Clients - Maintain Clients screen.

Before attempting to delete the account, please ensure that any assessments and care episodes have been deleted beforehand.

Note: You will be unable to delete a client's account if there is any financial history or transactions. If in this case, you should append the client's name with the words 'Do Not Use' or similar, so other users will be aware that this is a duplicate account and should not be used.

If there is no financial history but you are still receiving the warning message 'This record could not be deleted as it is in use elsewhere' when attempting to delete the client's account, then check the Clients - Client Notes screen for any Notes or Letters and individually delete these.

Please note that if the Edit and Delete buttons are greyed out on the Client Notes screen, then you will not be able to delete any notes. This will be because your username does not have permission to edit notes. To be able to edit and delete notes, the Client Notes Editor option must be ticked on the System Maintenance - Users and Passwords - User Details screen for your username.
