You might notice that the Export Report as CSV option appears greyed out and unavailable.

For example, when you go to Commitments - Planned Services - Service Orders, enter your search criteria, and click the Reports button at the bottom of the screen, the Reports dialog opens.

When you select the Exports tab, you’ll see three export formats:

  • CSV (unlimited).

  • Excel.

  • PDF.

But the CSV (unlimited) option stays greyed out and can’t be selected, while Excel and PDF are available.

You can follow these steps to check whether a role has permission to export reports such as CSV:

  1. Go to Administration, Security then Roles in Abacus Admin and select the role you want to review. This opens the Edit Role screen.

  2. Click the Jobs tab. You’ll see both jobs: Available jobs and Granted jobs. Look for Export Report as CSV in the list.

If the job appears only in the Available column and not in Granted, then users assigned to this role won’t be able to use the CSV export option, it’ll stay greyed out when they run reports, unless they also have another role that includes that permission.

If the user’s only assigned to roles without the Export Report as CSV permission, that’s why the option’s always been greyed out for them.
